Nom Nom Nom......

I don't know how many recipe posts I'm going to put up here - but here is my first.
I found this yesterday while I was skimming through some of the other blogs that I follow.  I figured "what the hell - I have bananas sitting on my counter" - those were my exact thought words. 
No paraphrasing happening around here!
 Anywho the recipe is called Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Breakfast Cookie.  It's kind of a mouth full, but descriptive none the less. 
Here is the original poster, because the nice and appropriate thing to do on blogs is to not take other peoples ideas and pretend that you were clever enough to come up with them on your own.  I would never pretend I was that clever.  The blog is skinnytaste.com.  And if you click on that name - the one that I just typed - over there, it will take you to the original recipe.

But for those of you who don't want to go through all that, here is what you do:

Find two ripe bananas (more if you want to make a bigger batch).  Mash those bananas up in a bowl.  Get 'um nice and mushy.  That sounds gross.  Just sayin.
Add 1 cup of oats.  Make sure they are uncooked (hopefully that was a given, but just in case it wasn't...) and use the quick oats.  Cause that's what the recipe said to do.  Mix them up with the mushy bananas. 
Add 1/4 cup of chocolate chips.  I'm not gonna lie, I added that 1/4 cup and it just wasn't enough.  So I added a little bit more.  Just a little bit, I swear.
Mix that all up.  Scoop out tablespoon size drops and drop em on to a greased (or sprayed, or lined) cookie sheet.
Bake em at 350 for 15 minutes.
And done! 
The serving size is 2.  And honestly that seems about right.  The recipe also says these cookies are great for breakfast (hence the name of the cookies) but I also think they are great for a little sweet snack.

So there you have it.  My first recipe.  I don't think I'm gonna be one to take pictures of my food, cause I'm gonna be totally honest with you - once I make my food I want to eat it.  I don't want to model it and try and make it all look pretty.  And really, mine didn't come out looking like the ones from the original poster (isn't that always the case?).  Hers came out nice and light and pretty.  Mine came out dark and not really all that pretty.  Except for those chocolate chips - cause when do chocolate chips ever not look pretty?

Day one - don't be too harsh

Well actually it is day 2, but I forgot my tape measure yesterday so all the measurements happened today.  The picture was yesterday after my workout.  It is a picture that I am very very NOT proud of.  But, it is what it is, right?  The only thing I can do about it is to change it - and that is exactly what I am going to do.
Again - I hate this.  To me it is humiliating beyond belief.  But maybe it will be the slap in the head I need to get myself moving.

Here are my measurements:

Right Arm - 13.5"
Left Arm - 13.5"
Waist - 34.75"
Hips - 41.75"
Right Thigh - 24.75"
Left Thigh - 25"

I can't put up a weight because I don't have a scale.  And my gym doesn't have one, at least not one that I can find.  So I will weigh myself this weekend out at my dad's house and post that when I have it.

I have downloaded two apps to my phone to help me.  I'm going to try them out for a couple days to see which one I like better, cause I don't really want to do double tracking, but I do want to find the one that works the best for me.  I am not used to counting calories so this is all new to me.  The first one is My Fitness Pal and the other is Noom.  I will leave a little review on them once I've decided which I'm going to use.

Dinner might be a little tricky tonight because I have planned lobster ravioli with alfredo sauce.  I guess it's really all about portion control though because I am not the kind of person to be able to cut stuff out of my life (especially something like alfredo sauce!)  So I will add a TON of veggies to my plate and keep everything else in moderation.
